Seminal work

This is a seminal work for anyone studying field geology. While there are many more modern texts, this one is good for getting started as a student or hobbyist. You will not regret it if you can pick this up cheaply.

Shut up and buy it

This is a fantastic book. Be aware if you get the earlier editions that they may have blank page runs. This does not appear to be an issue in the newer printings. Be aware any of the copies from the 2010s are the same edition, just reprinting with a newer cover. If you're familiar with the series Roadside Geology, I don't need to tell you more to convince you to buy. This is one of the classics. If you're not familiar, buy this book and find out. It presents a very easy to understand guide to driving through the geology of the Keystone State. Clear directions are given for navigating the roads. This is a great companion book with Hoskins's collecting fossils and the big PA geology textbook.
