Synth Pop Pioneers Rediscoverd
The Yellow Magic Orchestra were the forerunners of Synth Pop/Experimental and without a doubt influenced a lot of 80s English Synthesiser bands as well as Greg Phillinganes and Herbie Hancock and today’s acts such as Daft Punk, Goldfrapp and Tiga.
This album features ‘Nice Age’ which in extended form was a sizeable club hit. There are also comedic dialogues between tracks, however these may be an acquired taste to some. This was originally an EP, so these parts seemed to be added later.
Their first 2 albums including ‘Solid State Survivor’ remain among their best, however there is enough on this album to satisfy hardcore followers.

Classy Early 80s Disco Soul
Geraldine Hunt is a singer/songwriter who gained prominence with the hit 'Can't Fake The Feeling".
All songs in this collection have something to offer which make this CD a worthy addition to anyone who enjoys great club music from the early 80s.
Recommended!

Great Artist Who Left Us Too Soon
Sylvester made some the best disco/soul records which still resonate today!
With his strident falsetto vocals he created a sound that inspired the likes of Jimmy Somerville (Bronski Beat).
He was the original 'gender bender' in the late 70s long before Boy George emerged in the 80s.
His disco hits where actually "Hi'NRG' before the term was coined.
Sadly, he succumbed to AIDS in the late 80s but his music lives on!
