Wonderful. Note all piano works except piano sonatas.
This is a great value and I consider it indispensable for anyone who is interested in hearing all of Beethoven's piano works - except his piano sonatas (those are available in other collections or box sets). This set contains works that are rarities and difficult to find, particularly as media. This collection puts all of Beethoven's piano works (again except the sonatas) together so I recommend it.

This movie is recommended for people who want another perspective on Beethoven - which may be closer to reality for a fictionalized account of his life than Immortal Beloved or Copying Beethoven. It is a German film production (with a German cast) and English sub-titles. This is a refreshing change since Beethoven didn't speak English. The film covers the entire lifetime of the composer (i.e, from childhood to end of life) though it bounces from period to period and can't touch on all events. It is well done, with good costumes, sets, filming and music. I recommend the film to people who enjoy period films, music, foreign films, and Beethoven. The film does contain some facts, which you may not know unless you have read some biographies.
