Great for Teaching Kids About Social Justice
I love this book. It makes my five year old ask lots of questions about the world and social justice. She got fired up about the fact that some business sck in the 50's didn't allow Jews or people of color, and she was surprised to hear that it happened in the real world. She suggested that the businesses should allow no bad guys instead.

Important Lessons and Representation for Kids
My 5 year old Chinese American daughter loves this book. It's teaching her about how girls were (and are) treated in China, and about old China in general. I'm so glad I found a book with a main character that looks like her. I'm excited to have a baby boy and use this book to teach him about sexism, too.
