It does what you think it does but it doesn't just shorten your shifts.

Ford escort 1997 Pretty easy to install however I'd recommend getting new shifter bushings. My only problem with it is that it does shorten the height of the shifter knob itself. Got a 3 inch extender and used the knob it came with but planning to drill the OEM knob to allow proper fitment.
