entertaining and educational
If you are interested in the history of WWII you will love this series, because the stories are woven into some of the actual events of the war, and the series follows the course of the war from May 1940, when Winston Churchill became prime minister.

Good value
I would not really call the content of a dictionary compelling, but it does what it says on the tin. A suitable dictionary for someone (like me) learning enough Dutch in order to enjoy a holiday in Holland. It was good value and I am very happy with the purchase. Also, it arrived promptly.

Needs to be read more than once.
This books covers a great many aspects of world history, but specifically it gives a more balanced view of the exploration and colonization which went from Europe to the rest of the world. It should be required reading for all 'snowflakes' at British universities who have been given the patchy education in History which seems to be normal these days.
