Used for a MacBook Pro
The tabs help keep the laptop in place on the laptop tray for hooking up to my external monitors. The fan is quiet enough for my uses. The USB cord isn’t long so you might need to consider a USB extension if you do not have an available USB port on the laptop. Otherwise, it cools the laptop sufficiently.

An unfortunate necessity for home security, but better to have it and not need it than vice versa.
Title states reasons why I purchased.
The installation is very simple only requiring several pilot holes for the screws to secure the floor plate.
I also like this option for preserving the look of the door/trim versus a door bar or other door stopper that requires modification to the door or the trim to accommodate the stopper.
