Hornby gauge 0 No. 1 Special locomotive and tender, LNER 2691.
Firstly, remember that this engine is 90 years old, made 1929-30 and carefully used or stored since. The black goods-livery No.1 Special locos were only produced 1929-34 and thereafter to special order only, so are scarce and command a higher price than the more common examples in passenger livery (red for LMS, green for LNER, GWR and Southern Railways). Condition is always important - no evidence of damage or distortion e.g. through being dropped or roughly played with. Meccano Limited's products were always robust and well-manufactured, though not cheap by the standards of the day, and now regarded as collectors' items.

An inspirational book for any railway modeller in Gauge 0. It contains not only the stories of the author's various garden railways over many years, but some amusing anecdotes of contacts and friends made over that time, including the founding in 1956 of the Gauge 0 Guild which is the leading organisation for modellers in this scale.

Hornby-Dublo 4660 United Glass Limited sand wagon. Scarce model.
Hornby-Dublo 4660 UNITED GLASS LIMITED wagon, a late variation replacing the common THE UNITED GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTURERS LTD version and only produced in small quantities 1962-4 therefore hard to find in good condition and boxed. This one had one coupling replaced but the repair had been well done, as reflected by the price. All Hornby-Dublo products, 'Made in England by Meccano Limited, Liverpool' were of very high quality and at the time the best proprietary model railway system on the market.
