Poor Design, Difficult Assembly

These kits are very difficult to assemble. The instructions are terrible. In addition, the Ultimaker is a terrible printer. Let me give you one very obvious blunder in engineering. The flush control knob on the front of the printer has to me turn to make a selection. Since it is flush, you have to press on it to turn it. If you apply just a little too much pressure (which sometimes is needed), it will select whatever is highlighted. This is a huge design blunder. And you have to calibrate the plate almost after every printer. As for the quality of the print, the machine skipped to the next layer before completing the current layer. And these kits are clones. You will get NO support from the manufacturer of the real Ultimaker printers.

The quality of the iPad was not good. I can tell it was refurbished because part of the screen was far less sensitive to touch. That part of the touch screen was unreliable. The appearance was good but for the quality of the refurbishment, it is not worth much if you demand a reliable touch screen.

There is NO Better Value.

These are awesome printers. In some cases they are classified as 'industrial' printers but they are so easy to use that a novice will love them. And the prints exceeded my expectations. The flexible, magnetic build plate will soon be adopted by other companies. This creates a reliable adhesion to the plate but still allows very easy separation of the part from the plate. Awesome! I love the larger build volume. Why settle for a little build volume when you can get a larger one for the same price? And, the build volume can be fully enclosed. I like that. The printer comes standard with a high temperature extruder that permits the printing of filaments that require higher temperatures. Swapping the extruders out is simple and quick. Having both extruders increase the versatility of the printer while keeping the simplicity for the typical filaments. I had a printer that cost five times as much as this printer cost me and it did not print any better. That makes this printer a steal. And they look cool. I have two.
