Disappointing
Though the product looks good and fits my card wallet, the original plastic pouches lasted for six years. After only a couple of months one of the plastic slots in the replacement insert is splitting already. Wouldn't buy another one.

Unique!
This is my first Leon Redbone CD, bought on the strength of listening to Amazon clips and previously his backing to British Rail's advert many years ago! He has a truly unique vocal style which really trades on its distinctiveness rather than technical merits. The instrumental support is excellent, as is the quality of the recording. I can see that I shall soon be adding more LR CDs to my collection!

Classic Leon Redbone
Leon Redbone is one of the few performers who, for me, never fails to deliver and this CD is no exception. Many, like myself, will have been introduced to Mr Redbone via the British Rail TV adverts of the early 1990s, when the theme was (appropriately) to sit back on a train, kick off your shoes and relax - all to the song of that name. Though I knew of him firstly from that track, I bought almost all of his other material before 'Sugar' for no particular reason. Like so many cases where 'albums' (I HATE that term!) that were originally on 12" LP are transferred to CD, I found myself feeling a little short-changed that a disc capable of holding 75 mins. of music only holds a little over 30 mins., as appeared on the LP. (Of course, to get around this perception, CD producers often include 'bonus tracks' in the form of alternate takes, which are either so like the ones used that they aren't worth having or are so clearly inferior to the version issued that you don't need them. Anyway, gripe over.)
Highly recommended!
