    The seller provided exceptional assistance in the purchase of these calendars recognizing cost savings through a combined shipment of multiple calendars. The hard to find, out of print calendars were sold at a very reasonable price. The calendars were well packaged to protect against any damage during shipment. Highly recommend this seller.

Brand New Micro Machines Military Battle Zones Strato Fortress

Classic Micro Machines Military set. A MUST-HAVE for collectors!
The Micro Machines "Strato-Fortress" Battle Zone set was released by Galoob in 1993. Part of a new wave of Micro Machines action playsets with updated features, the Strato-Fortress was a "Freedom Force" command base. It came with an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter and three support troops. The set featured a spring-loaded firing missile (2 missiles included), an access walkway that "blows up", moving doors, pivoting weapon stations, & more. The base and main structure are pretty much a solid piece of plastic (some assembly required) and it does include stickers that have to be applied by hand. Since it contains small parts and spring-loaded weapons, I would recommended this set for children age 5+. These are becoming difficult to find as the years go by. Only a few (new) examples may turn up for sale each year and they usually sell in the $40.00-$60.00 range.
Micro Machines Highways & Byways City Plaza

It's a decent Hiways & Byways set but it does suffer from a lack of features.
The Micro Machines "City Plaza" was released in the early 1990s. It fits with the other Hiways & Byways sets, but it doesn't offer much in terms of play value or features. The elevated roadways will only connect to other sets that have the same feature (like the Off-Road Crossing), but it seems odd to have a sprawling city block with a main highway ending up at a rugged dirt track. The set was also repackaged as the "Metro Tower Hotel", but not much else was changed. There are practically NO moving parts or features, so it's basically just something you can put stickers on and look at. This one is a let-down compared to the other Hiways & Byways sets, but it still has the same rugged construction as the others, so it ought to hold up over time.

A nice model for the $25.00 - $50.00 price tier.
Minichamps is one of the industry powerhouses when it comes to 1/43rd-scale racing models in the $25.00 - $50.00 range. They're also one of the few companies that have a full line-up of Corvette C5R's from Le Mans, Sebring, and other races. They may not be quite as nice as the examples from Spark, but they should still be welcome in any model collector's showcase. What they lack in fine details they make up for in durability. The classic "checkered flag" packaging is nice, but the clear plastic covers are prone to scratches, cracking, and they're impossible to replace. I've also noticed that the plastic covers can be very loose, so it's always best to tape the ends down to avoid a potential disaster. *Note: earlier examples were packaged under the "Action" name instead of Minichamps.
