Civil War Songs and true tales of North and South--very interesting book!
This book has several Civil War songs (lyrics and written music) and stories about the Civil War. The stories are very interesting about how important music was to the soldiers. How the songs played by the drummer and musicians inspired soldiers to keep on fighting. Also stories of those back home missing the soldiers and of the slaves working for freedom. The only drawback is that it is a half size book and it is hard to keep it open so you can play the music.

What's Drunk, Mama--excellent book to explain alcoholism to elem. kids
Written for elementary school age children, this book explains alcoholism. While the illustrations may be dated, it is a very useful book. It explains how the parent's alcoholism is not the child's fault, and that it is an illness and the best thing the child can do is be a child and enjoy being a child while loving their parent. It is written by Al-Anon, and features recovery in Al-Anon for the spouse and recovery in AA for the alcoholic. It is out of print, but I hope Al-Anon World Headquarters decides to revise and reissue it. I bought the book as it is useful for parents/grandparents of young children who have an alcoholic parent and who can't understand why the parent doesn't visit them or is undependable. I don't know of any other book for this age group in this category, so it is very useful.

The sticky pads work well and catch fleas. This fits the Flea Secure Light Trap that I have. The replacement pads for that trap are $12.99 for a box of only 2 pads so this is a much better deal.
