Cute and practical...
...However, not the best option for frozen dogs. But, it does a decent job, and it's so compact I can easily use it on my nightstand for a snack while I'm working at home. Let your food thaw before you cook it, and it'll do fine.

Retro elegance for a crowded space
This lamp is exactly what I was looking for. After having bought a "See/Hear/Speak No Evil" monkeys lamp of similar style for my cluttered paymaster's desk, I decided I needed something slightly smaller for my nightstand. This lamp has a small base, and takes up considerably less room than the fat ceramic end table-type lamp I used previously, and it's well-made of heavy resin that won't upset easily (a plus for midnight fumblers like me). The bulb is high enough that I don't knock things out of the way when I turn it on and off, a plus for someone with canisters crammed with vintage rulers, technical pens and other things that catch on your wrist in the dark. The design of the lamp lends a tropical island look, and the shade is very clever (it comes as flat as a cardboard cookie). I love this piece and may buy more in the future!
