Great read-aloud book & great pictures
When you want to explore rhyming, meaning, nonsense, family and the country, this is the book for you and your kids. The drawings can be studied for hours, and the cartoon captions have a subtext that makes the poems even more fun.

True to classic story line
This version of Richard Scarry's Animal Nursery Tales is true to the story line of these long-ago stories that I recall from the 1950's. Simple and direct, the words and pictures work together for entertaining a preschool to school-age child and whoever may be reading to them--an older sibling, babysitter, parent, grandparents, or storyteller.
