Like Rediscovering An Old Friend
I was introduced to Icehouse via the "Flowers" album (or should that be introduced to Flowers via the "Icehouse" album?) and the "Primitive Man" album around 1982 as a young disc jockey in Austin, Texas. I loved both albums, but was especially impressed by Flowers. What a solid, strong record! The songs "Icehouse", "Sister", "Can't Help Myself", "Walls", "Boulevarde", wow! Excellent album. From Austin to Seattle, Washington in 1987 where Icehouse seemed to be ignored by the radio stations there and thus they fell off my radar for the next 30 years. Recently I was reintroduced to the band when I found the 30th Anniversary Edition of "Man Of Colours" on Ebay. Admittedly my main interest for wanting this CD was the bonus DVD of the band in concert. This package not only brought back the strong feelings for the music I first heard back in the 80's but also introduced me (better late than never) to the "Man Of Colours" album. I also discovered the Anniversary Edition of "Flowers", with the bonus Live disc and another DVD of live concert appearances. A 30 year personal drought from this great band has been rekindled with a vengeance!
I for one highly recommend both of these anniversary sets from one of Australia's greatest musical exports! I for one am very happy to have them back on my radar.

Get All The Associated Discs Too!
Hey, it's Dave Edmunds doing what Dave Edmunds does: Rockin' the house! I've been a fan of DE from the 70's with Rockpile and solo. This set (and the Rockpalast show starring Rockpile) ROCKS! I was thrilled to find both and I can assure you they are both not going to be found on Amazon (at least not on Amazon here in the States). And while you're at it, pick up the recently released performance of the Stray Cats recorded at this same 1983 Rockpalast show, plus a second disc recorded two years earlier contained in the same DVD set. I've been enjoying all three and highly recommend all three. Sound is great, 30+ year old video is great...you won't be disappointed. Enjoy.
