Where else would you find a playset of the Excelsior Bridge?
This is an AMAZING little toy. On the outside, it is a fair (if rather bulky) representation of an Excelsior-class starship (In this case, the USS Hood NCC-42296 from the series "Star Trek: The Next Generation"). But wait! There's more? It actually opens up to reveal a functional starship bridge playset, complete with computer consoles and chairs for Commander Riker and Lt. Commander LaForge, both of whom are represented here in micro figure form! There is even a klingon bird of prey on the viewscreen, for those of us who love shooting us some klingons! But all joking aside, I believe this is a massively underrated little toy. Sure, it is nowhere NEAR as accurate as any of the Art Asylum/Diamond Select ships, but it's a tough little ship, extremely durable, and loads of fun. I really wish that Playmates had made more of these little open up type mini playset ships, such as a USS Voyager or a classic movie Enterprise, but they did do a number of ships that either saw limited release in full scale (USS Defiant from "Deep Space Nine) or were never made in any other scale (USS Stargazer, Picard's first command, which I also own and will be reviewing soon

Absolutely crucial member of my bridge crew!
I have the old playmates TNG bridge playset, and I've been slowly collecting the entire TNG crew to man all the stations. Geordi was the last missing piece in the puzzle. Thanks!
