Good perspective
I’ve been doing research on the History of the Hawaiian islands and many of the sources I’ve read up until now discredit the work of the Christian missionaries, downplay the social problems of of native Hawaiians (murder, infanticide, sexualization, prostitution), and blame church authorities for certain other social problems. I appreciate reading this book. It helps me to have a more balanced view of 1800s Hawaii.

Love this book!
This book is great! I read it with my kids in the evenings. It is part of our homeschool program. The stories and songs teach history, music, heritage and culture. I definitely recommend to anyone.

Cool perspective on history
I am enjoying this book. I didn’t realize, though, that there is a more updated version that discussed HIV. But still it’s very good. I look forward to the update made on the COVID-19 virus.
