Good battery, pity about one of the screwdrivers
I have an Amazon Kindle Fire HD and I was getting fed up having to use it with the mains adaptor, despite the battery showing it was 67%. It was obvious that it was lying so I ordered this battery replacement. There are instructions on how to replace the battery on YouTube so using these I removed the case with the tools supplied. No problem there, I was soon looking at the battery that needed to be removed. There are five screws in total, four of the cross head variety and a star shaped one. The cross head screws came out, but when it came to the special screw, the screwdriver supplied was very pointed, more like a bradawl, good for making holes, but it would not engage with the screw. This was very frustrating as this one screw was the one between finishing the job (or not). I find a cup of coffee helps in these situations, not to throw over the kindle, but to calm the nerves and help to relax. Then it occurred to me, didn't I get a set of screwdrivers when I replaced the battery of my TomTom? I was in luck, one of the screwdrivers fitted the screw and I was able to finish fitting the battery. Pressing the ON switch was a delight, the unit powered up and I was able to install and register YNAB all on this battery. It registered, after all that, 86%, feels a lot more reliable. I am a happy chappy! Was I unlucky with this screwdriver? Who knows, but it might be prudent to get a set of screwdrivers as standby, just in case they are all like this.
