A gold mine of information for fitting any body.
This is a comprehensive overview of fitting that includes a diversity of women's body types and garments (sadly not trousers though). It takes the reader from seeing how to alter a muslin on a client, to transferring these alternations to a paper pattern, to making a second muslin and seeing the improvement in fit. This process is well illustrated, and clearly explained by King for each of six women, all of whom have different fitting issues. It will be useful for sewists at all skill levels.

Seeing 'Gertrude Stein' again
Corn and Latimer have written an excellent review of Stein's life and influence on her contemporaries and on modernism since her death. The visual perspective illustrates the stories effectively. I have a new appreciation for the impact she made on the art and literary community as well as why she served as an important early model for the feminist and queer communities. Now than I finished this book, I am off to the library for books that Stein wrote, and for books written about the Paris scene by her contemporaries. This is a great read.
