M-50A1 Ontos Tank USMC Marine & 2 crews VietNam war 1:35 Pro Built Model

The Ontos Circa 1965-1971

This plastic model is well detailed and painted by the artist in Viet Nam. Brings back memories of the 1960's when I was a crewman and Commander of one of these strange yet awesome little vehicles in Viet Nam. The only thing different then was that we didn't use the protection plate over the 30 cal. machine gun. It wasn't practical in a combat situation and hindered our range of motion when using the machine gun. Artist might take that into consideration when he builds his next Ontos for sale. All in all he has done a beautiful job of detailing and making it life-like. Detail on the two crewmen is also very well done. I highly recommend this vehicle to any that collect Marine Corps vehicles. Especially since they were decommissioned and phased out of the Corps in the early part of the 70's. To date there are only a couple that survive and actually run with a couple more now being worked on and restored.
