Excellent little audio amplifier, but connect with care
This product puts the well known TDA7297 on a board, with all the needed support components, for pretty much the same price as you'd pay for the IC itself. Plenty of power for TVs or portable stereo. A diode on the board prevents damage for reverse power supply connection. Convenient stereo 3.5mm socket means it can be used with any player, phone, tablet or whatever.
The PCB is single-sided, without plated through holes. The power and speaker screw connectors really need plated through holes. They are not secure with a single sided board and are able to break the tracks if tightened too much (I tend to tighten screws too much!) Take care when attaching the wires to them. If you do break the track, they are very easy to repair with a soldering iron.

Not as good as what it replaced
We had a similar Andrew James grinder/chopper which sadly died after a few years. It appears to be no longer available. The cups on this Wahl James Martin one looked identical, so we bought this, hoping it was the essentially the same except for the cosmetics. The cups are identical, except for the precise gear form that couples the blades to the motor, so they're not interchangeable with the old ones.
Two problems.
1) It doesn't chop anywhere near as well. It needs a wetter fill, and many times as long, to get the same level of fineness that we'd come to expect from its predecessor. The first curry we made with it had large lumps of ginger left whole. Maybe the blades aren't as sharp? Maybe the motor is slower? Maybe there's something very subtle going on in the placing and angle of the blades that results in dead areas of the fill when chopping? Who knows? But it's barely adequate, and something of a disappointment.
2) The silicone sealing band in the lid cannot be removed for cleaning. While its predecessor was a bit fiddly to refit the band after cleaning (I could do it, my wife couldn't), it could be done, and both band and lid cleaned thoroughly. The best that can be done now is to shoot a jet of water at it and hope it dislodges any food particles, it's too narrow a gap to use a brush to try to access the seal surface. We only chop vegetable matter in there, so let's hope we don't get ill.
