"Rolls Royce" Hotplate
This hotplate is of excellent build-quality, elegant and such a joy to use. I mainly use "waterless cooking" pans (Rena-Ware) which requires very fine and precise heat control. After initial heating I am cooking a pan of carrot, parsnips and baby potatoes on setting "4" which is very low and I can add sprouts and broccoli after 20-25 mins for the last 10 mins and all the veg has cooked in 30-35 minutes perfectly with all the natural goodness and flavour; very similar result to steaming.
The thermostat only switches in for a few seconds every 3 or 4 minutes, so the hotplate is very economical to use.
Each plate has a clearly marked 12 setting number dial and both are rated at a very high 1500 watt which means they have a very fast heat-up time but does not mean it is expensive to use. In fact it is cooking most of the time with the power switched off with the thermostat.
If you are looking for a table top hotplate and want the very best, I can whole heartedly recommend this appliance. It looks great, works perfectly, is very economical and has a heavy duty white stove enamel finish making it very easy to clean.
Note of Advice for UK Customers and Users:
If, like me, you are going to use this in the UK, you will need an adapter; euro 2-pin to UK 3-pin. I recommend the excellent Brennenstuhl 1508533 Travel Adapter. I have had 3 of these for several years for my German appliances and they are reliable, safe and rated/fused 13amp which is essential for this appliance.

24 can/15 litre Cool Bag
Perfect for taking home chilled and frozen food items. For a single person, this is a very useful size cool bag and solves the problem of warm bus journeys home and/or allows you to stay in town longer for coffee or other shopping.
I use 1, or sometimes 2, 400g freezer boards and food stays chilled for hours.
My only niggle is that the shoulder strap is not long enough for a man, especially if wearing an top coat over a fleece.
