Excellent model of a classic prototype

The prototype of this model was used on the steep inclines (6%) of the Usui Railway pass. These Locos were replacing the rack and pinion locomotives in 1963. The models show all details of the original and have a sturdy motor with large flywheels and reliable gears. The Models have no traction tires as they are meant to push EMU and other trains over steep inclines on the model train layout. The same as the prototypes. Traction tires on these models would functionally collide with the mechanisms of the pushed locos. There are two locos available which can be combined in the same way as the prototypes to increase traction. The front and real signal lights can be turned off and on separately. Maybe Kato could have included two axles with traction tires to swap under the bogies, so that these Locos can also pull trains solely and not just as helper Locomotives. All in all an excellent Model. Please consider the to buy the fitting second locomotive so you can pair the little machines in the same way as the prototypes were.

Gute Schienenverbinder

Ich habe diese Schienenverbinder als günstigere Alternative zu den klassischen Fleischmann Schienenverbindern für das Bettungsgleis bestellt. Die Verbinder halten wesentlich besser an dem Gleis und halten die verbundenen Gleise wesentlich fester zusammen. Aber man muss sehr aufpassen beim aufstecken und das unbedingt mit der Zange aufstecken, sonst kann man sich evtl. wegen schärfer Kanten Verletzen. Weil das aufstecken auf das Bettungsgleis beim ersten Mal etwas schwierig ist ein Stern Abzug. Die Verbinder sind auch hervorragend für die Verbindung von FLM und Arnold Gleisen geeignet. Endlich fest verbundene Schienen und nicht mehr ausleiernde Verbinder!

Diese Wagen sind bis dato die einzigen exakt massstäblichen Modelle des 2. Klasse Grossraumwagens der DB. Mit Kurzkupplungskulisse. Sehr zu empfehlen!
