2017 DVD with the Recut version and Spanish Dub is a must pick up for collectors.
I have the Blu-ray version of this exact release and the Definitive Blu-ray but noticed some issues with the Recut version of the film since it seems the audio would drop out after the Jesus expires. Seeing that most sellers stopped selling the Blu-ray version I picked up the DVD version since it includes the Spanish dub for the film and was curious if it had the audio problem on the Recut version of the film.
I have a 4K OLED and Panasonic 4K player and tell you what, it upscaled the DVD to the extent it borders between a 720p feed from tv or what I stream online. I was more than impressed so it says the pressing of the 2017 DVD was good enough so the 4K did it’s magic to upscale it. And as I suspected the DVD didn’t have the issue that I noticed on the Recut version of the film. Glad that I found this DVD since after Disney bought Fox, they released the rights and Samuel Goldwyn picked up the home video rights. on the latest home video release they cut all the special features, the Spanish dub and subtitles, and the Recut version of the film. So this final Fox DVD release of the film is a must for any collectors of the special features such as the Recut version of the film or listen to the masterful Spanish dub since it sounds like it was originally recorded in the Spanish language.
