All About John Deere, Special Edition

Great construction video!
In this 2006 program, it starts with Jim Coffey’s big machine song from I love Big machines part 2. The main focus starts with its humble beginnings back in 1935 as Kevin kryston narrates the model BI. Since then, JD produced many machines. Which includes back hoes, excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, articulated dumpers, feller bunchers, And skidders. The jobs they do are called applications. Most are painted bright yellow. Let’s start with the excavators. They are used in every digging job. For example, there is the 800C, and the 200LC. The arm of the excavator is called the stick. Crawler tracks are used to get around. Even if the ground is muddy. There is also a 230LC, and a 690 E LC. The largest is powered by a 454 HP Diesel engine, weighs 175,000 lbs, dig 27ft deep, and the bucket can hold up to 7 cubic yards of dirt. Moving on to the Dozers, it starts with a model 450H pushing the dirt. They run slowly on crawler tracks. They called these bullies, site preparations. They also help build roads, bridges, Dams, push trees around in the forest, canals and work in mines. A large dozer holds 150 gallons of fuel, and even if they run slowly, they run up to only 2.5 MPH. One 650h is working with a Golf course in the background, while the other 650H works at a New house. Did you know that Dozers also help Forest Fires? Anyway, the main parts of the dozer are, the blade, blade frame, track roller frame, crawler tracks, and the cab. Dozers can also do more jobs than pushing dirt. For example, a 650H is removing the wooden posts. The story of the Dozers began in Yakima WA. In the early 30s, Mr. Jesse Lindeman came up with the idea to put track assemblies on tractors. The Lindeman crawler called the BO (Not our Armpits, but at least the O is for orchards) was perfect for the orchards. They can climb steep slopes. 1665 of these models were manufactured. It’s 2 cylinder 4 cycle engine could generate from 15-20 horsepower. In 1947 JD purchased the Lindeman company. Now here’s something to look at. When every JD machine was assembled, it was delivered on either a Semi truck, or a freight train. It also contains Jim Coffey’s song: When John Deere’s riding the rails but in this program, compare to AAJD part 2 and the best of AAJD, but with different layouts, locomotives, and added sound effects. Of course the layouts were shown in the I Love Toy Trains video collection. After that, there is a silly Otto segment where he is driving the wrong dump truck. Next, we see what happens when JD helps the forest in British Columbia Canada. This time Jeff McCommas narrates. A 5600 feller buncher cuts the trees down and gathered them. Then the harvester cuts the tree trunks into shorter lengths. Next a machine called the skidder comes along, then the forwarder, the Grapple, and the Knuckleboom loader. Finally when the logs are loaded, the Big Rig takes them to the sawmill, where they are measured and cut into smaller lengths. Did you know that a “CANT” is called a Square Log? The saws cut them into 1 inch boards which are called the Gang Edger. Finally, they are shorted, Wrapped up, and loaded on big rigs again. JD also has a huge role in road construction. The Michigan Department of Transportation is mending the road on Route 12. A 672A road grader with a special blade has teeth on the bottom edge. All of the JD road construction machines are Red. Afterwards Jim sings before you know it you’ve build something. Next, an old snack bar at a baseball field had to be demolished with some help from the 790 E LC excavator. Another Silly Otto Segment is shown where he loaded dirt on the wrong dump truck. Afterwards, an educational segment on wheel loaders are shown. For example there is the 644J, the 824J, the 544H, & the 544J. They are shown on farms, and construction zones. They are also articulated with a hinged joint in the middle. Finally another JD song on Trains is shown with producer Tom McCommas doing the control tower operated voice. the song: I’m an engineer is a rewritten version from ILTT part 4 but with JD words. In the closing credits, Jim Sings a tap dancing version of My Big Machine from The Come ride along with me album. While it’s really sad & disappointing that TM recently cancelled selling all of their JD titles due to a license expiration, it’ll still be educational to watch than Elmo’s world, Sharon Miller’s Thomas The Tank Engine, & Teen titans go. So is this one a must have? Well yes, but you have to go grab it before all of TMBV’ JD titles are going into the Out of print, & Expensive Zone.
TOY-FISHER PRICE FBC35-9544 THOMAS & FRIENDS RACING RAUL NEW

A one-off Great Race character now a season 23 talkie
When Raul was one of the minor international engines from the 2016 movie: the great race, he was one of the most uncommon but short of forgotten Engines like the random One-Off Thomas characters: Hank, Flora, Billy, Molly, Neville, Dennis, hector, Mighty mac, fearless Freddie, and of course Stanley. This Adventures model looks quite accurate to the actual engine in the 3 year old Thomas musical.

A full hour of TMBV highlights
This 1994 goodtimes video features 6 or more layouts that were originally shown in TM’s very first video series: Great Toy Train layouts of America, and the original Toy Train Revue Video magazine. Which includes: Clarke Dunham, John Potter, Michael Primack, and more. Unfortunately the narrators Donald Varda, Jim Tuohy, and producer Tom McComas himself wasn’t in the credits. All in all if you wanna see what TM’s early years of the videotape business was like way before the creation of the more half of 10 million sold I love Toy Trains video series for kids, this is a model railroaders dream come true.
