not bad but needs better searh function
installation was quite easy, although I accidentally stapled a wire and am now short one. Image quality is acceptable and night vision not great but adequate. my biggest problem ,(and this might be covered in the documentation but I have not found it yet) is playback/search function. I can't search before the immediate day, that is from 12:01 to current time. and the fastest search is 8x . I want to be able to quick scan and see what happened last Thursday, and I cant seem to figure out how to get there. Once I figure that all out I will then try out the picture grab function and also hook up the remote online function.. Overall I would say it's a pretty good system I just need to RTFM.

it is always a good idea to expand your horizons. Learning another language is a good thing

accessible repair part solves a problem
support for a piece of equipment that is close to 2 decades old is a good thing.
assembly was fairly easy,
probably a good idea to replace all your hardware.
recycle/repair/repurpose.
