Excellent combination of Grit
The grit combination is the best for the initial sharpening a dull edge on a knife. The 800 grit creates a nice fine finish on the edge. It is also excellent for the first step, to continue sharpening Japanese Kitchen Knives and or chief's knives using a much finer grit. I continue sharpening with a 1000 grit, 3000 grit and an 8000 grit. When the sharpening is complete the blade cuts like a surgeon's scalpel. Bottom line .... this is an excellent sharpening stone combination grit.

Very sharp and holds an edge for long time
This knife is used every day stays sharp and I like it very much. I use it for all food products, meat vegetables and any other food items which require cutting.
