One of the all-time great live performances in superb sound
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Bruce & the E Street Band are, in my opinion, the greatest live performers in the history of rock 'n roll, and this thunderous performance taken from a soundboard FM radio broadcast could well be his single greatest show. The band's enthusiasm at being back home at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey for the first of a three-night stand results in a staggering concert, with the band ripping through a set combining material from Bruce's first four albums and covers like the great "Detroit Medley" and the Stax soul classic "Raise Your Hand" in the encores. One notable highlight is a lengthy and fiery version of Bruce's "Kitty's Back" that just seems to gain steam as it moves along, and the hit he penned for rockabilly singer Robert Gordon, "Fire".
The 1978 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' tour is widely acknowledged to be not only Bruce's finest but one of the greatest in rock history, and no show reflects it better than this one. And the sound quality is uniformly superb.

Superb performance but poor sound
This performance from Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco on December 15, 1978 is absolutely superb - however, something went wrong in the soundboard radio broadcast of the show. It seems to only capture one channel of the sound of the band. You hear Bruce's voice and guitar just fine as well as Roy Bittan's piano when it comes forward. But you are missing the richness of all the band's players blending together as a seamless whole, which is an essential element and proof of the E Street Band's greatness. Which is really unfortunate, because this is a superlative performance. So you end up hearing a great show with sub-par sound.

Superb solo album from Brian
This is really a superb album from Brian Wilson where he makes obvious his love of Southern California and how it affects his daily life. The songs are warm, melodic and performed wonderfully by Brian and his excellent backup band. Brian himself sounds energized and heavily involved.
