Essential reding for any fan of London
Peter Ackroyd's knowledge and enthusiasm for London has led to this 'meisterwork'. He is a great historian and his style is informative and knowledgeable without condescencion. All his factual works are little masterpieces in my opinion. Esssential reading for any fan of London and it's history. As with so much in life, you need to understand the past to tounderstand the present.

Great Book!
Great book, a lot more detail than the Anquetil book sex, Lies etc., definitely worth reading if a cycling fan, good read, lots of fact but not 'dry', highly recommended!
