Sadly not for me :(
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich After seeing reviews for this deck online and reading the reviews I decided to buy it. I do prefer Rider Waite decks and have owned various clones and the originals in the past.
Unfortunately once in my hands I have to say I found it disappointing and quite flat.
Firstly the corners of some of the cards were not finished correctly, as in, uneven edges, but although slightly irritating this alone would not be that big an issue if I could have warmed to the cards themselves! But alas no, I knew before I bought the deck that it was a CGI and that was fine, It had looked very appealing online but although well done I found the ultra glossy finish and endless young, beautiful people portraying the characters off putting. It felt like I was looking at a load of photos of teenagers and young adults posing in all manner of attire and in exotic locations for a glossy magazine shoot lol, and most of them did not match the archetypes that I know and love! For me there was no depth to it, it just seemed flat and uninspiring..
Having said that, I have to say, there were a few cards that I liked, The Queen of Wands I felt captured her essence brilliantly. The Four of Swords made a pleasant change from the church scene. The Devil, I could understand being lured to the dark side by him! The Kinghts of both the Wands and Swords were excellently portrayed, so it's not all doom and gloom, but unfortunately for me, overall there were too many cards I could not resonate with to make this deck workable for me personally.. But, I'm sure there are many who will love all of it, even with some of the uneven corners!
So I wouldn't write this deck off completely, i have awarded 3 stars because in my personal view that is what I feel it deserves.
