Philips DVDR3380/05 DVD Recorder
I've got this DVD recorder to replace my VCR and the quality of its recordings is very good.
Also plays all of my DivX files either downloaded from the internet or created myself. Just put in a CD of DVD data disc and select the files you want.
The drawbacks is it is slow to boot up when switched on from standby. Also to get a full NTSC picture playback you need to manually switch over to NTSC mode and press COMFIRM but will convert to PAL if left alone.

Great for retro tech.
This a excellent replacement for my Philips reel to reel tape recorder VU meters as the bulbs do blow after 30 years of use.
The only tricky part is that I had to dismantle the front panels to get to the meters and remove the cover on the VU meters and using a soldering iron, remove the old bulbs and replace it with the new.
I did use LEDs but I find the quality is not as good, plus it us too bright, so I went back to filament bulbs.
To keep the retro appearance of your device, I do recommend these for replacements, but do check the voltage rating. I am lucky that I also have a service manual which tells the the voltage and current ratings of the bulbs.
