Slimline and compact
I needed one of these for the bedroom wall - it had to be slimline and unobtrusive but also a minimum of cabling, so the built-in DVD was a pre-requisite. I've used JVC products for years so know the brand well. The unit is light but appears well-constructed; the DVD played is slightly creaky when DVDs are inserted or ejected but the picture quality is good and most importantly the remote control is solid and easily used. A good well-thought out menu makes it easy to set up. I'd recommend it.

Excellent.
John Doyle is amazing, the songs are superb, his guitar style is unique and complements the singing perfectly. No fake Oirish accents, no politics, just simple (actually far from it!) songs that you'll find yourself singing over and over again. Buy it.

Quality
A quality product that my dear old mother has used all her life, and now she's 90 years old, it may be harder to find, but she still writes to me on nothing else. It's traditional and means so much more than a torn-off sheet of lined notebook.
