Nicely machined

Well working and with nice finish. For normal use the libelle at the locking knob is useless. But if you take a series of panorama shots in portrait format it might be handy.

The nature photographers perfect compagnon

An advanced camera like the E-M1 Mark II should not be used as a point and shoot camera (even if it is possible!). It takes some time and effort to master the important functions and settings. And probably a few years to master all the more special ones if you really want to. But for the dedicated photographer it is a little jewel. Packed with technical possibilities. Highly custumable to your special needs and style. It is the perfect companion for the advanced nature photographer because of the compact and lightweight optics. Carrying the whole range of focal lengths is no problem. The advanced picture stabilisation, Focus Bracketing and Post Focus extends your possibilities for perfect sharp pictures, especially in the macro domaine. And the superlight and compact telelenses are easy choices when you decide what to carry on your walk. It is a camera you want to carry with you and it is a joy to use.

Fine if you just want to use it a few times.

It looks very nice and solid. The locking screew on the clamp worked for perhaps 50 times, then the thread broke completely. It is now impossible to tighten the clamp. It must be a case of too soft materials.
