Nest 3rd Gen. -- cool technology to go with our new central air (and furnace)

Pros: sleek, creative button/dial design and display to access functions including fan control; remote access -- even from work! -- and even greater control with the Nest app. Neat fan, cool-to-dry, other options.
Cons: Learn function works, but results are not really what I always want? We are not regular enough in our comings and goings, nor am I the only one who comes and goes (or not) for the Home/Away feature to work. Much easier to simply program what you want (once I figure that out -- at least I know how to cancel Learn feature scheduled events in the App) -- better yet, just fire up the App and set it myself anytime I want! Other significant problem just last night, the Nest Service (online, the App depends upon this!) was not available! Why not put "brains" in the Nest so I can control it locally without the online service?
