How the other Allied battalions did end of September 1918
I wanted to read more on how the other divisions did in capturing the St Quentin Canal, and scotch the manufactured claim the Americans did well. They fought well but had high casualties and took days to achieve what the soldiers from the Midlands achieved in 80 minutes - puncturing the Hindenburg Line. Not denigrating the Americans, just saying their achievements were later and against a more determined defence. Or maybe the 'terriers' from Staffordshire were simply unstoppable?
