Disappointed with Shredder
I bought this to mulch leaves for my garden. I am highly disappointed with the shredder. The opening is too small. Tried to mulch oak leaves, wouldn't go down without assistance. Very slow process, having to push all the leaves down the opening. The opening is only about one inch by 4 inches. Grinds small
branches fine. Easy to put together. I now have a branch grinder, for small branches only. I would NOT recommend buying this for shredding leaves. Just doesn't work that well. If the hopper opening and chute were slightly larger this would be a fine mulcher/shredder. If you want to shred leaves, get a different shredder. The price was fine, just not what I expected.

LASAGNA GARDENING A WONDERFUL BOOK FOR ANY GARDENER. TITLE SAYS IT ALL
I purchased this book because of my interest in unconventional gardening. I Square Foot Garden, so this book gave me additional ways to garden. I like the Lasagna Style of gardening, and the way the book presents it is wonderful. The pictures and drawings are great. I don't dislike anything in the book, but, I wish that the author went into more detail about alternatives to some of the layers that may not be available to some readers, such as myself. I do not have ashes to use as described in the book. What could I use in place of ashes? Alternatives could be included in my opinion.
This book fits in with other alternative ways to garden. I recommend this book to any gardener. The information in it is very useful, even for the novice gardener. Its a very simple way of gardening.

As Good Today as it was when written.
Although written during the 1980's, the same thing is STILL going on, only on a larger scale. Worthwhile reading if just for the history lesson. Well written.
