    NEW - Gibraltar Rubber Cymbal Seat/Sleeve, Short - #SC-20B
    11. Apr 2017
BETTER THAN CONVENTIONAL PLASTIC SLEEVE AND FELT SYSTEMS . . .
I have now purchased two sets of three of these. These are great! Because plastic sleeves are rigid, there is not much integral flexibility for structural deformation and/or deflection. Thus, as the cymbals displace slightly and teeter after having been stricken, these movements create thin spots on the sleeves, in various locations. And, as each individual drummer is usually consistent in her/his striking pattern, it doean't take very long for those thin spots to wear right through, to the mounting post. Or, as occurred to me more frequently than simply wearing thin,, the sleeve would break entirely free from the seat (I am a 'strong-arm' drummer). And, those of you who have broken a sleeve during a performance, jam, or practice and NOT had the correct replacement sleeve on-hand know, this can potentially be a 'shut-down' event (unless, of course, you don't mind keyholing and likely cracking your expensive cymbals). It is this rigidity that is the difference between a standard plastic seat/sleeve and a rubber cymbal seat/sleeve. Unlike the plastic seat/sleeve, the rubber seat/sleeve FACILITATES that same deflection and deformation. Because of the structural elasticity of the rubber seat/sleeve, 'thin spots' are MUCH LESS LIKELY to appear/occur. They deflect and deform upon, during, and afyer the cymbal strike, BUT, RETURN TO THEIR ORIGINALCONFIGURATION. These work virtually exactly like conventiinal seat/sleeves, except they cone in two (2) parts-top and bottom. The bottom half has the sleeve in it. After mounting the cymbal, the sleeve then slides into the top half. Then, drop on the washer and whatever cymbal locker you may use. I have not discerned any reduction in performances, tones, attacks, or decays. That being said, I would caution any potential buyers to not overtighten your wingnuts, lockers, etc. This WILL result in diminished cymbal performance, as well as premature breakage of the sleeve (s). Indeed, I believe they ARE better than conventiinal plastic sleeve and felt systems. Thank you for reading. I hope this helped! Keep on Rockin'!
New Stanley Fat Max 450 Amp Car Battery Jump Start Starter + Air Compressor Pump

    VEEEERY DISGUSTED!!!
Bought this unit exclusively bc I was tired of the wait each time, while using my 2/10 Amp charger to boost garden tractor (Cub Cadet GT 1554) battery enough to facilitate startups. The tractor batt'y is a 300 CA batt'y. Followed Stanley's charging SOP. Once all 'fully-charged' conditions were met, I set out to use it. Immediately, I found that the jump pack cables weren't even close to being long enough for me to use it. This downfall was realized regardless of which way I positioned the jump pack. Subsequent to realizing the shortfall of the short jump pack cables, I installed full-size ground and pos. cables, which served to extend/broaden the contact points, at which I could successfully connect the jump pack cables to my tractor batt'y. As a standing rule, and during extending the tractor cables, I had my 2/10 Amp charger trickling into tractor batt'y. at 2 Amps. I connected the fully charged Fat Max jump pack to my tractor batt'y., and attempted to start my tractor. There was very little, if any, boost in the avail. cold/cranking amps; and FAAAAAR from providing enough juice for the tractor to start. So, I disconnected Fat Max, reconnected my 2/10 Amp charger and gave the batt'y. 10 amps for one-half hour. When I returned to my tractor, as always, it started right up. So, to see if I could replicate this scenario, I recharged the Fat Max Pack per the Stanley SOP and returned to my tractor a couple days later. I repeated the steps above and, indeed, I did replicate the Fat Max's failure to jump start my tractor. The amperage boost to the tractor batt'y. is virtually imperceptable; and again, FAAAR from offering even close to the 300 CA my tractor requires. I have yet to affect a third attempt to jump my tractor. At this point, though, I'm hoping that at least the Fat Max's compressor will work so I don't have to fire up my 30-gallon compressor each time, just for tire inflation. And finally, for everyone else's reference during consideration of my review, I did, in fact, take into consideration and subsequently act on the condition of high internal impedence seemingly exhibited by the Fat Max unit. Too, I DID charge the unit FULLY before attempting its usage both times. And, after the first attempt to jump the tractor, the unit did take considerably longer to fully charge. Despite all the aforementioned observations, the Fat Max Jump/Booster Pack is still an EXTREMELY UNDERWHELMING piece of machinery, at best! I highly recommend that all potential buyers invest in the "Clore JNC660" and/or the "Schumacher PSJ2212 DSR." Let's face it, we NEED these booster packs to work. That's WHY we invest in them!!! Good luck to you all! I certainly hope this review has benefited all who have taken the time to read it!

    Husky HK42WC020B 42-Gallon Contractor Clean-Up Bags, 20 Count

    GREAT ALL-PURPOSE BAGS!!!
These bags are VERY thick, relative to conventional household garbage bags. I use these bags in my workshop garbage cans, as well as all my workshop recyclables bins (cardboard, glass, steel, paper, plastics, etc). Inside our home, we again use them in/for ALL our recylables collection bins. Arguably best, we utilize these in conventional kitchen garbage applications. THE BAGS DO/WILL NOT LEAK AND CAN BE STUUUUFFFFED AND CRAMMED FOR INCREASED CAPACITIES. Obviously, they CAN be punctured, but it would require something like broken glass, pointed metal, etc. These bags are the ONLY trash/recylables bags we use. WELL WORTH the expenditure. Just think back to the last time YOUR garbage bag split open and garbage went all over the place. . . . How much would YOU pay for that NOT to happen again???? WELL WORTH THE EXPENDITURE(S)!!! ;D
