These are bootleg
I've been using Apple's EarPods since they first came out and I've bought 3 authentic ones in that time. These however, are not it. The sound is fine enough, but the middle button (play/pause, skip, Siri) needs to be pressed so hard in order to register that it only works about 1/10th of the time. You can forget trying to skip a song while on the treadmill (let alone go back)- after 3 failed attempts you will either do it on your phone screen or throw the whole thing against the wall.
My ear piece cover came off within a few weeks (it snapped back into place so no permanent damage but I've never had that happen before,) and the cord is already showings signs of wear, even though I typically don't have to replace these for a year.
BOTTOM LINE: you get what you paid for
