If you like microsopes. . .

Great price and performance and build. I was surprised at the quality of the build on this item. Plug it into a usb port and call up an app that allows you to view a web cam and you get a good image of whatever you magnify. The microscope, at a rated 1000x, has a very shallow depth of field and I found it difficult to use in the stand that it comes with. It's easier for me to use disconnected from the stand, putting it flush against the subject. This is available in lower magnifications, with deeper depths of field, that may be easier for younger children to use, but my 5-year-old grandson was able to use this once it was set up for him on a computer.

Small and Inexpensive

The Pi Zero is a good match for projects where small size and power consumption is a plus. I coded my project on a Pi 3, configured the Pi so that it would automatically run the code on startup, then moved the SD card to the Zero. Slower than the Pi 3 and with less RAM, but still great for many projects. Also, because it's cheap, great for 1st-time users. No worries about damaging the board because it's easy to replace.

Small and Effective

I used these to boost audio output from a Raspberry Pi earphone jack to passive speakers. Worked like a charm.
