Similar to bicycle grip.
My lever was smaller in diameter than what would be required for this handle. Fortunately I had a smaller handle which would fit between this handle and my mower lift lever, both were secured with several wrappings of stainless safety wire twisted relatively tight with end nips and the sharp ends folded under on the lower end similar to a hose clamp which would work also.

Spindle bearings
Toro bearings are of good quality. As long as they are kept clean and greased they will last a long time.
