A great book for electronics hobbyists and academics alike
I have not read through this book yet, but what I have read through is interesting, accurate, well explained and enjoyable.
Everything is explained in plain English for the hobbyists, but also has more in-depth knowledge that is accessible to the more academically minded. No lack of illustrations for the visually minded and no lack of maths for the boffins. It approaches electronics from a practical involvement angle, which seems the most sensible way to learn it. Great projects, excellent explanations of how things work, and best of all: fun :)

Correct values, poor markings, wrong tolerance
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I opened these in order to sort them, but found the coloured bands too minuscule to identify the colours aptly, and the stated resistances on the strips are poorly stamped, so I set about measuring them with a calibrated multimeter and marking them myself. I am glad I did so, as I discovered they are outside of the +/-1% tolerance stated on the sale page. For the project for which I ordered these, they will suffice, as the only tolerance-sensitive resistors in the project require a matched impedance, and all units of the same nominal value do match to within measurable range.
However, none were outside a 5% tolerance, and their price is far lower than that type in bricks-and-mortar stores, so they are still good value if you only need that level of accuracy.
