Fascinating insight to a great engineer.

This book is a mixture of the historical background and the science behind the work of Sir Barnes Wallace. The book is more than a biography of the man and is a good balance between the historical context and significance of the major contributions he made to the WW2 war effort and his subsequent work on supersonic flight. The book explains enough of the basic physics and engineering he applied to make it possible to appreciate his ability to observe and think laterally and how he brought novel solutions to many problems at a critical period in world history.
