Leaves a little to be desired

The fit and finish on the post (that should slide into the banjo) is not good enough. It appears to be covered in some kind of coating or corrosion which does not allow me to place it in the banjo. The documentation is pretty much unusable and printed (photocopied?) as to be illegible.
