MTH Erie Smooth-Side passenger cars
This set (MTH 8160015) is the two car companion set to the five passenger car Erie set, 8160006. The cars are gorgeous and well detailed. The scale is more accurate than earlier versions of smoothsides (like the IHC/Rivarossi cars). They have nice movement, good scale diaphragms (which require close coupling for good contact), and good lighting. The lighting is on a capacitor, so it may require a bit of juice before lighting up. But once on, because of the capacitor, these have nice, constant light. You really need at least 22" curves in code 83 (24" would be better, but that's not what I have) for smooth operating. Well worth the price and nicely paired with the PA's also dressed in Erie green available from MTH.
