The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection [DVD][Region 2]

OK price quality point, finally I "get to see them all"

The cartoons are "proper", however the tone quality varies, some are louder, some have "TV laughing" with them, for some the tone was outright bad, did the studio rely on decayed long time archive or bad copies due to loss for these? Tone and image sometimes give the impression of heavy mpeg compression but not enough to bother greatly. It seems that the more popular cartoons have been edited for 16:9 screens while others are in the original format (slightly tighter cinema format?). I was especially surprised that the format on our old TV was "cut to 4:3" instead of schrunk to fit 16:9 on 4:3... is it the DVD player or the DVD provided settings? On the computer the DVD showed 16:9 normally and I was happy to find out the material was not cut to 4:3 (TV format may have shown it like this as well originally?). However it may be, the amount of cartoons, quality and the price are definitely OK and certainly enjoyable.
