Great way to save money!
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I read this book, took the sample tests, and followed the study guide in chapter 1. I scored a 69 (out of 80, 50+ = pass) and had no formal training ahead of reading this book. Excellent study guide to allow me to skip paying full price on a college course and I studied in 3 weeks as opposed to a regular 16-week or even 8-week college course. Great book. REA has fantastic study guides in general, so this is highly recommended. Don't let the publishing date fool you. It will be very relevant to the current tests the College Board is currently administering.

Only somewhat flexible
Like most “smart” things that allow scheduling and knowing your location, I cannot tell it to maintain the schedule even when I’m home. I work from home and remain in my office most of the day, so I want the daytime setting maintained. If I walk by the sensor, it sees that someone is home and increases the temperature. I need the settings to allow more “intelligence” and let me decide when it should change the set schedule.
Other than that, it does allow for a lot of flexibility in the schedule. This should allow for savings when people won’t be home.
I required a professional installer on a furnace only 10 years old to add the wiring harness. I “probably” could have figured that out, but had easy access to an acquaintance who did it cheaply. Other than that, it is a simple setup and I love remote access. Having Alexa available is cute, but so far, I’ve found limited benefit. The sensor isn’t in a great location for it to always understand.
The cost is pretty steep if you’re simply looking for a schedulable thermostat, but it does have far more flexibility and can sense when you’re coming home.

Decent text for what it teaches
I've taken many "management" courses, and this was my first college course for the material. It is essentially the same information about how to effectively communicate and provide appropriat feedback to subordinates, etc... and is an easy read. This text is certainly only useful if the course is requiring it for the class. I see no real value of the book outside of a college classroom. There are plenty of better-written books if you're seeking knowledge on a subjuct for the sake of learning it.
