Good Product, Poor Wiring Instructions
The timer was installed the day after I received the device and is controlling a 40 gallon water heater as planned. The only drawback, which caused the one star penalty, is that the wiring instructions and diagrams are poor and unless you have experience wiring 240 volt, 30 amp devices, hire a qualified electrician to do the install.
When the timer mechanism is removed to mount the case, install the battery and program the timer settings at a table or work bench, which is easier than programming the unit on the wall.
