Practical, proven information
Trovato admits he's not a "writer" and that's OK. His experience and recommendations are what count. Most of us are "Mondello" graduates, but Trovato contradicts almost every modification performed by the Mondello camp and probably all the others as well. Dick Miller is not far from the "traditional" way of building an Olds; street or strip. I particularly benefited from the section on bearings and oil system mods, or lack thereof, and was a bit worried until I fired up my basically stock 455. Cold oil pressure with 10w-30? How about 55 lbs with a stock pressure and volume pump. After thrashing the engine at highway speeds, the oil pressure never went below 20 PSI with .0035" rod and main bearings. This was using the recommended Wix filter and Brad Penn 10w-30 "green" oil. Details keep the engine together and trouble free. At least consider this book for your Olds build. This one has the black and white pictures, get the newer version. Nice color pics, easy to see details

Expensive, but neccessary replacement
Most RidGid parts are expensive, and these jaws are no exception. These need replacing after about 100 rod jobs, depending on circumstances. Good usual quality for these types of products
