Useful adapters.
When I started to add a boom to my tripod with additional clamps and articulated arms, I found that there was the two different sizes of thread used on the various components, so a pack of these has been very useful to ensure compatibility. Well worth the minimal cost.

Functional timer
These are generic timers and I have bought several of them as they are cheap but effective. Initially I bought a couple where the cable plugged into the top of the unit but I found that these could easily come out whilst on location at night so I started to opt for the hard wired option which has eliminated the previous problem. The backlighting on this particular one is brighter than another identical timer albeit branded differently. I am not sure whether the model has been improved or whether the back lighting on older timer has faded in time. I also found that it was necessary to tilt the timer to be able to see the digits properly although this is a minor issue. The only other thing I have found is the number of exposures is limited to 399 when I have had a requirement for maybe 600 or more exposures when doing star trails. A more expensive intervalometer I have has a function allowing infinite exposures, which is useful, but a compromise with this timer was to double the exposure time, thereby requiring fewer exposures. A good and straightforward timer which possibly has limited durability but is inexpensive.
