Johnny Carson: The Ultimate Tease
32 von 37 finden das hilfreich This DVD collection has some good footage, but don't be fooled by the selling phrase "over 7 hours of footage". The footage that shows the funniest highlights from past shows only comes to about 2 1/2 hours. On top of this footage they included the last two shows in their entirety, and a documentary on Johnny's life. Don't get me wrong, some of the footage is priceless; my wife and I laughed till our stomachs hurt.
It's not a bad DVD, it is just that I expected more highlight footage. Highlights are broken down by decade: 60s-70s, 70s-80s, 80s-90s. I hoped each of those segments would be 2 hours each, but instead they were only 45 minutes each.
This DVD has segments that are a must see, but don't pay $50-$60 for this DVD set. I'm glad I got it, but even happier I spent only $20, because that is all it's worth...

Disappointed...
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I bought "Erect for 30 Years" because I thought it was a collection of some of Billy's (full) comedy routines. I was hoping especially to get the DVD copy of one specific routine: The HBO special he did with Whoopi Goldberg.
While this DVD was not all bad, this is a documentary, not a collection of full shows. The story of Billy's career is good, and some of the clips from his routines were good. But because I was looking for a collection of old and new complete concerts, I was disappointed when they did not materialize.
If you like Billy Connolly, you will like this. Just don't get your hopes up for miles and miles of classic comedy routines....

John Pinette: I'm Starvin! is probably one of the funniest stand-up comedy routines of all time. You will not be disappointed...
